PLAYING CARDS a personal illustration project
Making my very own illustrated deck of playing cards as a personal project has been on my wish list a very long time.
I taught my son to play cards during his little sisters swimming lessons. He loved it, now, almost 18, he still does. It’s something we do together, even while eating out in a restaurant … we love playing with this deck!
This project was a fun challenge, the first two sets were a breeze! But then i got hit with wave after wave of doubts, my foxes and hippo’s just weren’t working. I paused the project … Then, I finally gave myself permission to change my mind. no more hippo’s and foxes, but tigers and brown bears. In no time I managed to finish the my playing cards a personal illustration project. Sometimes you just have to get out of your head and follow your guts!
