I have always wanted to decorate a vase, have it fire in a kiln and come out looking truly amazing. But, as I am not great with clay or have a kiln … Illustration is as close as I get … These vases were a daydream, but I also really wanted to study textures, colours and loose lines. So here is my series of four vases decorated with florals motifs. Maybe I can take a vase decorating workshop someday! see more of the vases in my portfolio. Ik heb altijd al een vaas willen decoreren, deze in een oven willen laten branden en hem er werkelijk fantastisch uitziend uit willen vissen. Maar aangezien ik niet zo goed ben met klei én geen een oven heb komt Illustratie zo dichtbij als ik kan… Deze vazen waren een wens, maar ik wilde ook heel graag spelen met texturen en lossere lijnen. Hier is dus mijn serie van vier vazen versierd met bloemmotieven. misschien toch maar een keer rond neuzen voor workshop vaas-decoreren

I’ve had the pleasure of following the handlettering bootcamp by Lilla Rogers over at Make Art That Sells. It was a blast! Lilla’s total joy for all things text just jumps off the screen. The lettering assignments, from the micro minis to the final assignments, were so much fun. Three months of total lettering bliss. I figure you need to see how much I’ve enjoyed this. Time for the images of the hand lettered products … Ik heb het genoegen gehad om de handlettering bootcamp van Lilla Rogers te volgen bij Make Art That Sells. Het was een absolute knaller! Lilla’s totale vreugde voor alles wat met tekst te maken heeft, springt gewoon van het scherm. De opdrachten, van de micro-mini’s tot de eindopdrachten, zijn zo leuk, ik denk dat je moet zien hoeveel ik hiervan heb genoten. Tijd voor de foto’s van de hand geletterde producten dus …

These are the bookmarks I illustrated for a school principal ahead of the new school year. She wanted to let her teacher know how much they do. Ik vond deze klantopdracht geweldig, het brengt alles samen waar ik echt van hou: illustreren, lezen en motivatie! Dit zijn de boekenleggers die ik voorafgaand aan het nieuwe schooljaar voor een schooldirecteur heb geïllustreerd. Ze wilde haar leraren laten weten hoeveel ze doen.
